Brian

Vocals, 6 & 12-string acoustic guitars, electric guitar, keyboards, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, kazoo, tin whistle, percussion

Brian is the primary composer for the Brian Jin albums. Will perform solo many times, and favors the 12-string for strumming, and saving the 6-string for finger picking.

His solo performances never happen without continuous gratitude to his friends who have helped him make the albums in his discography. Below you can learn who is behind the Bri and what they do....

Casey Wollberg

vocals, acoustic guitar, percussion

Casey has been working with Brian pretty regularly since the two of them were in high school. They cut their teeth together on covering Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Still & Nash, R.E.M., Toad The Wet Sprocket, and Live. Casey has a natural ability to go straight to the harmony even in songs he's hearing for the first time. Casey's and Brian's voice blend together effortlessly, and the majority of this is due to Casey's ability to create striking vocal arrangements for the songs. Casey also helps with songwriting, and when writing together Casey and Brian finish each other's thoughts. The best example of their writing partnership is with the song "Nobody's Fate" from the 2022 album YOU ARE THE MOON.

Nick Kladky

vocals, bass guitar, acoustic & electric guitars, keyboards, orchestral arrangements

Like Casey, Nick and Brian have played together off and on since shortly after Brian left high school. Nick has a knack for the blues, and smooth vocal delivery. As he is formally educated in music, Brian refers to him as "the real musician in this outfit." Nick can jump in on any song with any of his instruments and make a strong part. His bass is essential to songs like "Maiden Name" from 2022's YOU ARE THE MOON, or his orchestral work on "Moments Flat" from the same album. His songwriting is not to be scoffed at either. "The Field Man" from 2020's BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET & OTHER EXPERIENCES is an instant classic.

Nil De Silva

vocals, drums, tablas

Nil served as the beatmaster general for Brian Jin from 2019-2023, bringing his enthusiastic rhythms to such classics as "Thursday" (BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET & OTHER EXPERIENCES) and "Riviera" (THE FRENCHTOWN CONNECTION). Nil even took a turn on lead vocals on the title piece of 2021's THE FRENCHTOWN CONNECTION, "Frenchtown."

Rick Vaughn

Drums, percussion

Rick may be solely responsible for the existence of Brian Jin. His proposal to work with Brian to produce his first EP, RED DIRT BLUES, back in 2009 started the saga. Following Nil's departure, Rick returned to the drum throne for the Jin's 2023 Tour, and joined them in the studio to record the song "Your Secret Words" which is the flagship tune of the newest collection of music, SECRET WORDS.
